Testing my new Kitchen...Teenage Party


 My new kitchen


Before

It took much longer, but it was worth it! My new kitchen is spacious and well organised.
First real test was a teenage party for my son.

Puno duze je trajalo, ali je vrijedno truda! Moja nova kuhinja raspolaze sa vecim prostorom i boljom organizacijom. Prvi test je bio zabava za mog mladjeg sina.


Party
To make this event easy on my-self, I  prepared only necessary food and bought some ready made stuff
(chicken nuggets, chips, dips,  lollies, drinks...teenagers prefer bough food anyway!)

Da bi si olaksala ovu obavezu, pripremila sam samo neophodnu hranu i kupila vecinu vec gotove
(pileci kroketi, cips, umaci, slatkisi, pice...tinejdzeri ionako vise vole kupljenu hranu)

Ricotta and Basil Scrolls (Recipe)











Pizza Scrolls

 For pizza scrolls, use the same dough as in recipe above. Spread the dough with pizza sauce, sprinkle with your favourite toppings and cheese, cut 2 cm pieces and bake for 10-12 minutes (200*C). 

Isto tijesto kao u receptu gore, namazite pica sosem i pospite omiljenim sirom i kobasicom. Zamotajte, rezite i pecite oko 10-12 min (200*C).

Frankfurters in Puff Pastry

You need 1 packet of cocktail frankfurters (16 pieces) and 2 puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet into 8 ribbons; wrap each ribbon around one frankfurter . Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Trebacete 1 paket hrenovki / virsli (male ili prepolovite velike - 16 komada) i 2 lista (25 x25cm) lisnatog tijesta. Tijesto izrezite na trake, omotajte svaku hrenovku i pecite 8-10 minuta.

Cucumber, Feta, Tomato Stack

Cut thin cucumber into discs, place cubes of feta onto each disc and top with 1/2 cherry tomato. Secure with toothpick.

Izrezite tanje krastavce na diskove, na svaki stavite kocku fete i poklopite sa polovicom tresnjastog paradajza. Ubodite cackalicu u svaki.

Easter - Food ideas for a large group

 Most important thing in organising a party for a big group is planing. At least 7 days before the date, put everything on paper; number of people ( and kids), what you want to serve, then what are you going to cook on what day. Make a list of groceries that you need to buy and get them in advance.
First make food that you can freeze; bread, cakes and other.  Couple of days in advance  make food that you can store in fridge, and for  last day plan making food that needs to be fresh (example green salad, roasts...).
Serve all food as a buffet, so everyone can help themselves easily.
Here is the list and order of food that I made for my Easter party.

Planiranje je najvaznija stvar u organizovanju zabave za veliki broj ljudi. Najmanje 7 dana prije datuma, stavite sve na papir; broj ljudi (i djece) koji ce vam doci, sta zelite servirati, i sta cete kuhati koji dan. Napravite listu namirnica koje trebate za proslavu i kupite ih.
Najprije napravite hranu koju mozete zamrznuti; hljeb, kolace i ostalo. Par dana prije zabave, skuhajte hranu koja moze stajati u frizideru, i za posljednji dan ostavite pripremu hrane koja mora biti svjeze napravljena - salata, pecenje...
Servirajte svu hranu na jednom mjestu (Svedski sto / samoposluzivanje) tako da je pristupacno i lako za rukovanje.
Evo liste i redoslijeda hrane koju sam pravila za moju posljednju zabavu.
Zao mi je zbog loseg posta; pokusala sam ispraviti, ali ne ide!


Coloured/ hard boiled  eggs can be prepared up to 5 days in advance.

Bojena jaja mozete pripremiti do 5 dana u naprijed.









Eggs cooked with onion skins get beautiful brownish - red colour.

50-th Birthday


I'm exhausted! It took me 10 days to cook all the food, decorate, and organise everything else - lighting, heating, serving...
Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures along the process. I thought I'll set the table and then take pictures....BIG MISTAKE! I didn't have time to do that,so - NO pictures :-(

Zabava je bila otkazana, pa ponovo zakazana 2 sedmice kasnije. 10 dana mi je trebalo da sve organizujem i skuham sta sam planirala. Posteno sam se umorila. Slikala usput nisam; mislila sam slikati kad sve postavim. GRESKA! Nije bilo vremena za slikanje kad su gosti poceli pristizati. NEMA slika :-(

Spinach and Cheese Filled Puff Pastry












Ingredients:
(For 48 small muffin cups)
3 sheets of puff pastry (frozen)
500 g Cottage cheese (or Ricotta)
250 g spinach (frozen or fresh), chopped
1 egg
salt to taste
Method:
Take the pastry out of freezer, cover with a clean tea towel and let it defrost.
Preheat oven to 200*C. Spray muffin tin with oil.
Mix spinach, cheese, egg and salt. Cut pastry into squares - each sheet will give you 16 small pieces. Place each piece into muffin mould, fill with 1/2 tbs of cheese/spinach mixture. Bake 10 minutes, or until slightly golden.



Spinat i sir u lisnatom tijestu

Potrebno:
3 lista smrznutog lisnatog tijesta
500 gr 'Cottage' sira (ili obicni)
250 gr spinata, sjeckanog
1 jaje
so po ukusu
Nacin:
Odmrznite tijesto; svaki list isijecite na 16 komada. Utisnite kocke tijesta u kalupe za (male) mafine. Pomijesajte preostale sastojke; ubacite 1/2 kasike u svaku modlicu i pecite 10 minuta na 180-200*C.
